The British American University Master Degree
programmes are designed to evaluate ones prior
education and work experiences, and graduate
degree objectives. The amount of work needed to
obtain the Master degree depends largely upon a
student's undergraduate training and work
experience. In addition, by developing a Master
Dissertation in an approved subject area,
students can then complete the Master degree
requirements in as little as one academic year
or sooner. A student pack, consisting of
instructional materials will be provided to
students upon registration.
A Master degree is an introduction to the
academic research process. Candidates for a
Master are expected to adopt a critical and
scholarly approach, to use appropriate methods
of enquiry, and to relate their study to other
work within the discipline. A Masters
dissertation typically provides the basis for at
least one academic article.
The normal requirement for entry to a Master
Degree programme is a second class honours
degree in a relevant subject. However one should
check the individual requirements listed in the
Prospectus since some degrees may require a
higher standard for entry. All applications for
admission to postgraduate courses must be
approved by the Admission Office. You should
include the following information in your
application and/or attached the relevant
documents.
1. Academic background including a full
transcript
2. Course to which you are seeking entry
3. Proof of work experience
4. Copies of Education & Professional
Certificates
5. References
A completed application form is required before
an admission decision can be made. The Academic
and Work Experiences section of the application
should be thoroughly completed, because this
information will help the Admissions Office to
evaluate and determine how many academic Credit
Units you are eligible to receive.
The following are the course and graduation
